Thanks guys and speaking of no more 6 cyl pop, i got these bolted up today i had the pull the engine hoist back out and lift the motor up quite a few inches to get them to slide up from the bottom. my back is killing me though. i was sitting inside the engine bay, where the rad would usually be, bolting these down since i got tired of leaning over the fenders.
all in all putting these headers on were actually much easier then the G-bodies ive put headers on. on those cars the frame is really close to the bottom of the engine so you still have that clearence to deal with. alot of people use the hookers that would wrap outside the rails. the mav headers took almost no time at all by compairson. start to finish my regal took 15 hrs to put headers on which involved removing the old pipes. the mav took just over 2hrs
Now go back and retorque them! and then wait a couple of days and do it again. Then after you run the engine for an hour or so tighten them again..... and again, and again..... I love what they do but I hate bolts that loosen up!
Purty! Are those GT40 heads I see? Have you put spark plugs in yet? I know what ya mean! I pay big bux for aftermarket parts, only to be a billboard for all the different companies. Cheezes me off. Even gauges, for example... Why should I have to look at 3, 4, even 5 gauges in my car, and see "Auto Meter" over and over and over... ???
Can you get roller rockers and locks under those covers? If so, what mods are needed? Sorry for the hijack!
Good Question i never tried.Just got stock junk on mine.Heck still have torque down rockers.I really should take some updated pics of the engine compartment it's a whole lot neater now.
Looking good Tony. Did you end up going through that engine like we talked about or did you drop it in like it was? Either way you've got it looking nice. Looks like you're getting close!
