What was the advertised application, universal or model specific?

Hmm, ok. Well, the long arm isn't rounded like the stock one, I'm wondering if that's whats not allowing it to fit, though the position of the opening is the important aspect.
But, if you've tried every possible combination, then it might not have the correct dimensions.
Maybe someone has a pic of their set up they could post.

yea i was hoping for a pic actually. theres 1 or 2 spots on the water pump where i think the triangular piece might go. im a little lost on the slider piece though. my intention is to just run one belt around the crank , water pump and alt

(im assuming its a passenger side alternater mount)

Yes, I think most (if not all) are passenger side. I'll take a peek tomorrow and report back if no one chimes in by then.

Ok, I'm starting to run out of steam.

    Catch you later.

On the factory brackets, the long skinny one fits to the bottom hole of the other bracket.

What is not being shown, and it may not be required, is the spacer that spaces the alternator pivot point away from the head.

Yea, that's how mine is mounted, but as long as it works, it'll work either way.
