ok been away for developing parts for the maverick since someone one here as done that job already. soooooo i feel motivated again so don't let me down. ;)

i am in the process of making a 1 inch sway bar 4130 in chromoly steel

now as far as i know no one makes a 1 inch sway bar for a maverick right?

i mean some have used a a 65-66 mustang or a 67-68 mustang bar like myself and even some have use the granada one with some debate. but no matter how you look at it they are not the right ones. you can rig something up to relocate the mount or shorten the end links but either way it's not right.

i have been messing around with some suspension on newer cars and really if you get the set up right with the correct stuff it really can make a differance. so with this in mind. are you guy interested in this?

AND i mean REALLY interested in it. i don't want this to end up like my idea for the Carbon Fiber mirror where everone wanted in but when i was ready no one stepped up with the price came out. i guess one day i will do this cuz i want them myself...lol.... anyways.....

again this will be a 1 inch sway bar 4130 in chromoly steel where i think the ADDCO is just plain lower grade steal. if ADDCOs are will they only have a 7/8 bar. these also will be power coated purdy in blue. please note: 1 inch bars will not work on 6 cyl cars.

either way i am doing this for myself but i would like to pass along the options for others that might want something like this. i am thinking i can get away by doing this for about $150 bucks or so without hardware. plus whatever the shipping cost to where "you" are located. hardware you can just buy yourself from summit or even some autoparts stores carry energy suspensions brand endlinks and sway bar mounts.

anyways i'm gauging interest on this subject so please reply so i don't waist my time one something no one wants or won't buy.

    i'm all ears!

I am curious what you will be running at the back of the car along with the bigger front bar... a rear sway bar too?

    What springs and shocks?

I ask because my car feels like it needs to have a rear bar added ... some of the reading that I have done suggests that sway bars tend to correct problems with the opposite end of the car ... the front plows on mine.

I need to get 4 leaf springs and see how it goes from there. My whole front end is rebuilt, but the back is original factory stuff and tired.

I'd be in for one, I have been looking for something bigger than 7/8", and that price is not bad at all.

i'm not going offer any package but personally i'm running the ADDCO rear bar.. not the best design but it works. i won't mess with making a rear bar. ;) shock i have kyb gas.

that was quite some time ago though right? how much was it? i wanted to do a 1-1/8 but the machine i have access to won't bend something that big. i'd have to find another source for the 4130 as well.

    anyone else out there?

Awesome idea with an actual 1in Maverick intended sway bar. I would be down for one and if you decide to make a rear one too:D.

I'd be down for one but since my front suspension is no where near stock now, I'll have to have a custom one anyways.

the issue with the 6 cyl car is that the oil pan sump will be in the way.

Are you going to have a bar for the rear to match the rear roll with the front? If not you are going to have a car that understeers badly.

I have a 7/8 bar on my 4-door. It is VERY close to the oil pan. I concur....a 1" bar or larger would not work.
