Test fitting my 302 in my 74. Noticed the perches are a different height. Anyone know which side the taller one goes on?
um i dont think they are different hights. mine were the same hight. they have a offset to them. if yours are like that they offset goes towards the rear of the car.
I've had the engine out of the car for two years, so I've lost track of how it should set in the car. With it in the car and on the mounts and perches it's clearly setting closer to the driver's side about an inch. It looks like it's also rotated around the longitudinal axis, tilted top towards the passenger. The resultis it puts the oil pan into the driver's side lower a-arm, and it appears the driver's side perch may be a half inch taller. Just checking with you guys on this. I also have one old and one new engine mount, so that may be some of the difference also. I'm going to replace that and see how it looks then. Progress on my drag car, Yoohoo!
Maverick mounts are unique. If you accidentally got a Stang mount for the new one, it would set higher and over slightly compared to the shorter Mav mount. The frame stands (lower portions of the mount system) should set evenly.
