    Hi all!!!

Just bought a new master cylinder, but it came without the pushrod (maybe they all do) so I ´tried to pull the one from the old one, trouble is that it did not come of without the primary piston, after assembling it all only the secondary piston is engaging (the rear brakes), I started messing around with the spring on the primary piston but no luck...

    So any ideas...? :hmmm:

    Thank you!

    Robert.

the new master cylinder i got had two push rods. one was about 1/8 to 1/4 inch shorter. I would check with different part stores or go back to where you got it and say its missing the push rod. once they push rod is put in you cant remove it because of the type of clip on it.

The push rod can be removed. Insert the rod into a vise and use 2 screwdrivers/prybars to pry against the ears of the master cylinder. It might be tough but it will come out.

Gonna be a slight problem with checking with the parts house...He lives in Sweden, I bought the parts for him here in Houston:huh:

Let me know if I need to send you something else. Those rods should be able to fit in an envelope and be cheap shipping.

Was it in the package with the other one, like the package was incomplete, or just sold without the rods?

I honestly think they were sold without the pushrod and now that I´ve been messing with both masters old and new (primary piston springs) I think I really did mess up, started to read in the -74 Ford manuals ant they say never :naughty: to mess with the springs since they are factory set...stupid stupid me... :(

    Thanks Scoop!!!!
