    I took off the trim and then the failed vinyl top. I am pretty bummed
    I think I need a new body.

    Wow that is the worst I have seen. If the rest of the body is OK I would just graft on a donor roof.

    Bob,I feel bad for you.How does the rest of the car look??? If its nice... re-skin the roof,Its not that big a PITA.Man that is a bummer.

    Wow, that's worse than mine was. If you're interested, I have a good roof panel you can have. It's from a car that I'm going to junk anyway so I can cut it off for you. Shipping would be a bitch but I thought I'd throw it out there.

    I am glad I took mine off before it got rusty. As soon as I joined this forum and found that they basically hold moisture to the UNPAINTED surface, I yanked mine off.

    Luckily, Mine was garage kept, and had no rust underneath. Just a small dent I easily filled.

    I hope I don't have that!!
    I see rust areas on my new Comet I just got. I might just take it off and do some work in that area before I do anything else... it stays in the garage, so I can take my time.
    I really like the vinyl top look and there not expensive so I will be going back with one.

    Fordmaster had a top for sale recently...cheap. It didn't have the molding heads tho. That's why I passed on it.
