Here are some pictures from Show Day on Saturday. Some of the cars had left by the time I walked around and took some shots...including the Shelby Maverick.

How about the Ga. boys stepping up and hosting it next year in Atlanta? Dan Hines could rally the troops and pull off a great Roundup. Atlanta is close to a lot of the folks on here and much closer that the DC area. I would come for sure, with or without a car.

    Just a thought.

I just spent a week in Pigeon Forge. That would make for a great roundup. Not sure about a dragstrip but there is plenty to see and do.

I went to Pigeon Forge this year on our bike trip. It would be a great place to have a Roundup. It just takes someone to put it all together.

Yes, Pigeon Forge/Smokie Mountain area would be neat.

I've stayed there on my way home from at least 4 of the 10 Roundups I've attended.:camera:

That's the rub, finding somone to put it all together. It's the same with all type of cars. The Cougars, it seems, do not have an East Nationals unless the DelMarVa(Delaware, Maryland, Virginia) Club hosts it. I went to one hosted by the Ga. club in Atlanta in '02, and Louisville in '04. All others have been hosted by DelMarVa. People complain it is too far to drive to Va, but no one wants to step up to the plate. Too much work.

It seems it is the same here. I admire people like Nick, who step up and take the bull by the horns and do something, rather than blow smoke. It takes a lot of effort to put on one of these affairs. People may complain it is too far, but no one seems to want to host it themselves, too much work. Having been President of 2 statewide clubs, I know what a thankless job it is and what little help is offered.

Whoever takes charge of the next Roundup, my hat is off to you.

Too far. I drove there from Az. last year. But, i hear what your saying. This year just to go to the Gathering I spent as much as I did last year on diesel going to both the Gathering and the Roundup. Hopefully the fuel prices will continue to go down. :)

In the end the cost of fuel dictates pretty much everything and i only see it getting sadly worst.:(

I'm late in replying, but it was great to attend the Roundup, and thanks to (Nick) and to all those:tiphat: that put it together. Thanks to Mavaholic for the ride to and from Old Dominion Speedway. Thanks to Nick also for putting together the laps around the Speedway.
