This afternoon, Garrett (koopstamaverick) and I got started on the engine swap in his '69.5. The car still had the factory 170, which ran very poorly and had basically no power at all, the car would hardly climb a hill. We were going to just swap a 200 I6 I had laying around into it, but Garrett found a good deal on a 302/C4 only a few miles from his house.

The engine is out of a real nice '70 Torino and has a few odds and ends done to it. Edlebrock Performer RPM intake, Edlebrock carb (appears to be a 600 CFM vacuum secondary), chrome valve covers and thermostat housing that are good for at least 25hp, and we aren't sure if it's internally stock or what. Has a recently rebuilt C4 behind it.

Anyway, we got the original 170/C4 out in a little over an hour today. I'll be going back first thing in the morning so we can get started on dropping the 302 in. We got a few pics today while pulling the 170 out, I'll be taking my camera back with me tomorrow to get more pics of dropping the 302 in, and hopefully a video of the first start. :yup:

The car itself is a very solid and straight '69.5. It's been converted to 5 lug with front disc brakes, and sports the 8 inch rear out of one of my '76 parts cars, so it's all good there.
