Hello people. I need a few ideas as to what's up with my 302. The car only runs when the choke is nearly shut and at a fast idle. When I try and slow it down it stalls out. I just rebuilt a carb and put on a 2v aluminum intake from a 1980 302. I blocked off the exhaust passageways with tin. Does it sound like i have a vacuum problem? Or is it a carb problem?

I am going to try starter fluid or wd40 to check for leaks tomorrow.

Have you checked it with a vacuum gauge? just to see where it's at?

if anyone cares:D..... i found a large vacuum leak where the egr, that I blocked off with a gasket and plate is leaking, big time. Another leak was on my vacuum advance.
