    The motor:
    306ci
KB flat top pistons (with 6cc valve reliefs)
    eagle i-beam rods
    stock crank
    tfs stage 1 cam (.499/.510 w/1.6's)
ASF 32 heat range plugs gapped 40
1.7 roller rockers (changes the cam specs I know)
    hooker 6901 headers
    e7te heads, shaved ~9.5:1-10:1 comp
    weiand 4011 intake
    holley 600 carb vac 2ndary. #70 jets
    mechanical fuel pump
    pertronix in-dizzy ignition
running ahead of a c4 and 3.00 open rear

These heads are overcammed, and I have about 24k miles on the engine since I built it two years ago. I'm still having trouble tuning the car and I'm considering getting a better-matched set of heads for the setup.
    Here's the kicker.
The pistons push .020 past the deck, so I have multi-layered-steel .065 blower gaskets to make up the space. No problems so far, but I'm afraid to change to a high dollar set of heads since the motor has had so much time to warp.
    Thoughts?

    You should be fine!!!!
You still need to check PIston2valve clearance and also proper push rod length after the head swap....
    many brand heads out there....

The cam's fine. You should have ported at least the exhaust side of the heads though. Ditto on checking the clearances too.

Throw a set to Twisted Wedge heads on it. You will not be sorry you did. Thoes heads are the best for the money. They make TONS of power.

I will be puting a set on my 408 sometime next year. My motor will be a little more race than yours. I am hoping for high 9's on motor.

    Good Luck with your project
