Black wall tires are best for me - I don't need the added attention.

I have some Center Line knock offs, and they look really nice with the BFG Radial TA's on them. Just the right size letters.

    Whitewalls

They used lots of thin whitewalls on the '71/'72 cars.

RWL are for MUSCLE CARS... like OUR CARS...

Speaking of "old school"... I think chrome and white letters go hand in hand with a "contrasting" paint job... I immediately notice white letters on any muscle car/hot rod/resto-mod.

It's all about personal choice to make a stock, restored, or heavily modified car a little 'unique'... to me the BFG is nice looking but too common so I got Kelly Charger RWL for my 4 lug rims, and I hope to get the Firestone Indy 500's on my next car. It's also an identifier... all the white letters are 'performance tires' but black could be anything from Pirelli Pzero to $40 WalMart specials.

Just to be different... I was about to put RWL on my last car - a blacked-out race-prepped Honda Civic. Nothing available in the right size that was reasonably priced...

This is my dream car... belongs to a member of the Maverick/Comet club so I hope I can post it here since I'm gearing my next project towards this... I think they're 15" wheels on a stock body/paint combination and it looks awesome:

I prefer white letters on most vehicles, I have them on my F150's [all three of them], and on the Maverick, and Deb's Fox Body 'Stang is fixing to get a set. I'm going to take the two best tires off of her car and put them on the front of the Mav, and I guess I'll have to get one of the lettering pens from Jegs and paint the letters on them since they're blackwall. Two combos that I don't like though....white letter tires on any four door, and white walls on any kind of aluminum wheel.

Nor any useful input, it's a matter of personal opinion, I like them on an older type of wheel, and on muscle cars, but also the tire has to be the right profile, just my opinion.

Personally i hate white letter tires. I also feel the same about white walls. This thread is actually very ironic because i just bought a 1992 F150 tonight and the very first thing i did when i got it home tonight was paint over the white letters with some flat black spray paint!! To me it cheapens the vehicle. With a blackwall tire i feel it gives it a much more solid look. And also why should I advertise BFG's or Goodyear or whoevers name in bold white letters on my car, they didn't give me a better deal on the tires for me to advertise they're product!
Ok i'm done with my rant for this evening haha got a little carried away.
