So I have yet another question that I should probably know the answer to. I have a '73 Comet with a 250 6. I just got the car and I want to change the oil. I can't find anything anywhere as to what type of oil to use. I'm thinking 10w40 or 10W30 but I just want to be sure. The engine is stock with 8,169 miles, yes 8,169.

Any help would be great!!!!!!!!!!!

Guessing the car sat awhile,,, I'd run the 10-30 change after a couple of good drives while oil is still hot, then maybe 500 miles an after that your regular interval. Sounds like a cherry! Good Luck

    Thanks everyone!

This car is pretty sweet. Original everything, which is good and bad. The guy I bought it from put the Granada disks on the front so at least it will stop. I put 14" painted Magnum 500's on it and waxed it. General tune up stuff and down the road I go. I'll post some pictures when I download them from my camera

    Thanks!!
