Ebay Flexplates....

Does anyone trust those ebay flexplates that are being sold for about $40.00, for the c4 trans?

 

i put over 2K on the one that i run before switching to a T5 and it worked flawlessly... i was very pleased with mine

 

mine wasnt spaced right and ate 2 starters, im going to have to change it out

 

I am using one, 154 tooth 50 oz for 5.0 swap. So far, no problems. SFI approved as well.

So sense I'm going to be using my 250 I6 C4 trans, with a 351w, the 157 tooth 28 oz. flexplate from Ebay will be okay?

 

yup, or just find yourself any plain old pre-'82 302 flywheel

 

So which starter do I use - a 302, 351w 250 I6 for my 157 toooth flexplate?
(With a starter solenoid attached or not?)

 

Both the 351W and the 302 use the same starter.

 

One last dumb question, for the 157 tooth 28oz. flexplate, with a 10 1/2 inch converter bolt circle ....is it wise to buy a torque converter of the same bolt circle or do they all fit?

 

Torque convertors also come in 2 sizes. You have to buy the one that fits your flexplate and bell housing. Also if it's from the 77 make sure you get a TC that is a 26 spline.

 

Are the Maverick c4 transmissions pan filled or case filled?

 

I believe the pan filled was used mostly on the light trucks. At least that's what I was told. All the mavericks I have seen were case filled.
