The flow pattern inside is slightly differnt, no real differnce the say more flow but same sound i bet most people could tell the differnce
Straight pipes are more fun..but when you live in a an area full of super old people they dont like you working on your car while its running at 11pm, guess the police dont either.

last summer i was ridding it with any exhaust just manifold and just to see the old man on the street nearly having a heart attact when I give a little more presure on gas wish I had a camera
if ya have a V8 get a set of hocker headers and a set of purple horney muflers man thoes things are loud on a 302
Just have to but in with my .02 Not to step on any toes, but Not only do flowmasters sound a lot better than straight pipe, but in a well designed exhaust system, they will actually outflow straight pipes. (in most street type applications).
just to know what are you thinking about this exhaust configuration: hedman 8300 headers 2 1/2 tube ractive x-pipe 2 flowmaster 40 serie and chrome tips just for the look
