thanks everyone. The seats are pretty comfy IMO.....but heck, I had plastic racing seats before these; so anything would be better
Looks great. i just got a 73 maverick awesome condition and im wanting to turn interrtior black like urs can u tell me all the steps you did ..wat carpet what seats etc
looks awesome man!... question? it looks like you created a flat/ false floor where the original bench used to be. is that true? and if so, how did you do it!?
Nice! Did you use premolded carpet, or did you just get flat carpet and put it in? Can flat carpet be used and lay properly in a car?
The car was original black interior. Seats are PROCAR by Scat, got them from Summit. The floor is flat. I removed the old floor, welded in a new floor. the carpet is actually industrial speaker carpet (for lack of a better name).....like you would find on PEAVY units. It laid really good on my floor and was fairly easy to work with. After some measuring, I started on the tranny tunnel and work my way out on both ends. Making a few smart cuts around the tunnel/feet area. I was initially happy with the "tightness" of the carpet and after a couple days, its actually drawed tighter.
thats cool! do you know if there is a way to use the existing floor and create a flat insert of some sort? I am guessing I will need a flat area to install the new seat rails, I just haven't figured out the best way to do so. I would like to keep the original floor, but would not be opposed to building something. Any suggestions would be great! Thanks.
not sure I would think with all the humps and dumps in a stock floor it would be difficult to do that and get in true level, plus it might run high in the back section. The issue with that would mean having to run it high in the front to have a level seat, then you get into "head" clearance Anything is possible :Handshake
That looks really great. The carpet matches the seats great. I will have to look for that carpet also.
I like it better than the stuff you can get at a parts store.....I had that before and it got "hairy" over time. This stuff is not supposed too, we shall see.
