Not many! The heads will fit from a 351W on a 302/5.0 with a head bolt adapter kit. The 302 uses 7/16 bolts while the 351W uses 1/2 inch bolts. I am not sure if the 302 heads will accept the larger bolts, probably so. They share the same 10 bolt pattern. The intakes are different for these engines-351W is wider. Exhaust manifolds will swap depending on the car you are putting the motor in. Crankshaft has .5 inch longer stroke. The bore is the same; 4.0 inches. Connecting rods are different: 302/5.0=5.09 inch rod and 351/5.8=5.956 inch rod. Camshafts are the same and are interchangeable. Firing order is different on 351W and late model 302 HO. 351W uses a unique distributor due to taller deck height. Water pumps are the same. Hope that helps. Seth
front timing cover same. mechanical fuel pump same. thermostat housing same. water pump same depending on application. there are different timing covers, but difference is in water pump mounting and thickness, and in whether or not they have fuel pump mounting boss.
Probably not. And the oil pan, I honestly can't remember. I think that they are different. Your compression depends on the combustion chambers of the heads and the pistons. To make sure that we are on the same page, are you referring to bolting parts from a 302 onto a 351W shortblock? Heads were the same for 351 and 302 from '75 and up or after '75-can't remember which. Seth
Pans are not interchangable. Push rods different length. Block wider and heavier. Takes all the same transmissions except in some special cases. Cam can be either a 302 or a 351 with either fire order as long a the plug wires are set to match. Roller cam blocks the same applies but are all the 351/HO fire order. Intake manifolds are not interchangable except in the case of EFI. Only the upper is interchangable. Dist are not interchangable.
Heads Two ways, I think ARP makes 1/2-7/16" stud kits for the heads or have them drilled out to 1/2" holes.
