    Star Shifter Perspective

I recently purchased a 72 mav for parts and it came with a nice star shifter from B&M. After comparing it to the stock shifter, there was no comparison. I was really impressed with the shifting part of it, no slop. What I don't like about it is how high it stands from the column hump. It almost seems like a truck shifter. Another thing is the parking location, it swivals too far forward. If not careful when locating to fasten it into place, the shifter while in park will be too close to the dash. If needed I can take am image an post it to see what mine looks like, in park and drive. It feels nice though.

I don't know what the starshifter is like, but I really do like my megashifter.
Another good one for a street car is the z-gate.
B&M makes good products. I'm sure whatever one you choose will exceed your expectations.

Two 1973 LDO Mavericks (one 4 Drag one 4 driving like Mad on the roads :) ) also have a 75 6cyl Stock! Ok, well sort of Stock :P
i have had both... i like the star better

the mega is a ratchet both up and down. ie: you have to push down on the shifter once if your in D to go to 2nd and push it again togo to 1st. it works the same on the up shift. i seen also two of them brake on my buddies car.

the star can go from D to 1st in one shift and on the way up its full ratchet.

the mega is also a bit shorter then the star

if your looking for the full safety of ratching i'd go with the quicksiver. i personally dont like it however my dad and my friend both like them.

back when i a dumb high school student i would love to race on a roll on the street. when you when to have to click twice on the shifter just to get to first gear that is a win or lose on the street ;)
