I'm assuming that in order to move down one notch. Just jack up the car and then move it right? Just making sure I'm not biting off more than I can chew
heres the steps 1) jack up the rear of the car under the dfferential as high as you can , place some stands under the body, I suggest putting them on the sub frames right in front of BOTH rear springs. 2) lower the rear end just so the suspension is relaxed, remove shackle bolts. 3) replace shackle bolts in lower holes and tighten(you may have to lower the rearend some. hope this helps.
Why do you want to jack the car up further? Its not safe. It puts more strain on the front end components. It makes the car handle even worse than they already do. Reduces rear wheel traction. Shall I go on?
It's not safe Is that a big rust hole under there? SAFTEY FIRST. IT'S ALL FUN AND GAMES ---- TILL SOMEONE GETS HURT. Let's all have a SAFE and fun summer. John
I will get to the point. Those things are a death trap. Death to you...and death to the car. You jack that thing up anymore and the amount of stress and torque put on your rear frame rails will rip that car about. Bottom line....remove those things.
New 4 leaf springs and stock shackles will accomplish the same thing but be alot safer and a nicer ride.
I've got to through in with the rest of 'em. Lose those shackles!!! The suspension on go-cart is safer.
No if that is not a car guy in the making, I've never seen one. That is a handsome kid in a spiffy car.
The big city of Rex, Ga is down around the Morrow, Ellenwood, Stockbridge area. I am about 5 miles form I-675.
