Worst run of the day turned out pretty good. My wife caught this in two still shots.
Sat in line forever- car was getting warm, I fell asleep at the light with a .673 reaction time, carb stumbled a little out of the hole -

I am slow, but still having a blast. I've made many, many, runs but still get a huge thrill every time.

Bill - This is at Piedmont Dragway - It's between Burlington and Greensboro. I see you are from Mooresville. Cool. I've been meaning to make it down to Mooresville track. Maybe try one night later this spring. There are a couple of guys I work with that live south of Lexington that go to Mooresville Dragway. We'll have to get together.

Speaking of primer Mavs - there was a guy there with a primer Comet running in the race class. He was knocking down some low 7's at about 95 MPH. I didn't get to talk to him, only got to wave a couple of times as we passed in the staging lanes. The guy in the pits next to me said this was supposed to be his first time out with a new 347 crate motor.

M.A.V. - mods are simple - gutted interior, mildly ported 351 heads with 1.94/1.60 valves, Performer 289 intake, 600 Holley, Duraspark electronic ignition, and 4.56 gear with detroit locker. Its still got the stock 302 bottom end, cam, and transmission. The next mod is to get some new tires. I'm running an old worn out set of BFG Comp T/a's that a friend of mine threw away. They are super hard. Trying not to spend much on it (I've been down that road before)

Maverick5946 -is there something wrong with your car? I see air under the front wheel. Got to love the wheels up launch. Extra cool.:D :D
