69.5 T5 conversion help wanted

    Hello Folks ,just wanted info from anyone herte that has put a t5 into there 69.5 mav . I have heard on here that it cant be done cuz of the tranny tunnel being to small .Im of the belief that there is no such thing as cant be done ,so any pics and knowlede from you who have done it please show and tell as i cant believe that i would be the first to do this .Info i want is ie does a big hammer needed to widin the tranny tunnel a bit or does it need to be cut and welded ,is there a special tranny mount need to be fabed for duel exhaust ,any infor from anyone on this part would be helpful. I have compleated the 5 bolt 8 inch rearend swap and the 5 bolt front disk brack swap.V8 framerail and mount swap.just the tranny is holding me up right now . Dont get me wrong i havent even tryed to put it in yet ,but i will just thought if someone else has done it it might help me along. cheers Jimmy :hmmm:(y)

    Jimmy; It can be done........and has. My car has a T5, and I really love it. You need to get a late model bell housing, a clutch cable or hydraulic set up, and a crossmember to accept the T5. I recommend Mustang Steve cable kit from Ebay. Mine went in well, and works fine. The T5 is larger than the smaller tunnel on the 69.5. You will have to work the brace under the tunnel, and cutting it and reinforcing it will help. You just have to make the clearance for the trans to go there. It is tight! The stock drive shaft should work ok, as I used mine without modifications. If you need pedals, get Mav or Comet pedals. Just easier than modding Mustang stuff.     Yep, same tunnel as my 70. Takes some surgery but worth it.

    i have a t5 (1994 mustang) on my maverick, mustangsteve.com 1967 mustang cable clutch swap kit, 8.8 rear end from a 89' GT mustang. the driveshaft fit with no modifications.
