While my orange 1972 Grabber is a REAL Grabber....it is far from original in my opinion. I painted it a color that NO early Grabber ever came in. While it was originally a bucket seat car, I switched it to a 1971 comfort weave interior. And of course...the engine "looks" original...but it is really a 347 stroker with lots of go fast goodies hidden under corporate blue paint. I say do whatever makes you happy.
good choice on keeping it original! -what's so bad about the rubber floor mats. does it make it really noisy inside the car? i think they look cool
Matt your car doesnt have rubber floor mats, my problem with them is they are hard to clean to my standards they have a rubber smell they tend to be a little slick and I just plain dont like them. Plus mine had a couple cracks were they went over the tranny tunnel. Just feels more comfy with carpet.
I like it the way it is, and I also know what its like to want to change a few things, but I wouldnt convert that car to a grabber clone. if anything find a grabber it seems most people on this site have more than one of these cars,I'm already toying with the idea of getting another one and havent had mine a year yet..ha,ha, I think you must do what you want to it , not what we think it needs.. my 71 has perfect black interior and I want to change it over to buckets and floor shift like your car from the bench , my friends say leave it alone its too nice to mess with, but I'm still going to find all the parts (in as good as condition as yours I hope) and convert it over.so I say make it the way you want it ... but me its perfect the way it is, mine would be done if it was like yours...A+, but I like the clean and simple maverick.
