I'm talking to some guy named Glenn. I just plugged "license plate restoration" in Google and found several examples of plates he restored, and they looked nice. I don't think he can do the reflective plates. I wish I could find someone who can, I'd have my '71 FORDGT plate and my 429 SCJ (429 Super Cobra Jet) plate redone. His email address is vette517@prodigy.net

I read an article on how to restore plates and it seems pretty easy if they are straight. Just paint the color of the numbers first. Put many layers on. Then put the background color on and use a few coats as possible. Then take a sanding block with some real fine sandpaper and wet sand it. Since the numbers are raised, you will cut through the background color and expose the number color. Might be worth a try.

$85 for a reproduction that's not a perfect match to the original vs. $25 or so to have my original repainted. Neat site, but I think I'll have to go with the original.

    Me 3. Yes I'm old.
I have a set of 72 ontario plates in very nice shape for my Mav given to me by my wifes uncle. I can register them to the car but it runs over 200 dollars to send them in to be verified then they return them with the paper work to get them transfered to my car. Do that next year. I have other things I need this year.

I like the 69 plate over the other one.

I have a set of 73 plates that were on my Dad's car, I've thought about using them..but they are just blue and white like the plates we have now, and more money that my custom plates I bought years ago..

Hey Jamie, have you seen this site?

The 72 plates are blue with white letters. Yours are white with blue letters? If I remember right they alternated colors each year. Short of the 1972 on them they arent much different than current plates. Too expensive to register them. What a rip off!!!!!
