does anyone know where I can get a .467 size steel distributor gear for a 302 that is pre drilled. The only one I can find is the msd one and it is $65 plus shipping. I have found some for around $35 but they are not drilled and I don't want to have to pay a machine shop to do it
http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?part=MAA%2D29418PD&autoview=sku I found this one and believe it will work. I just want to be sure before I buy it
Ditto, no machine shop needed to drill the hole. JUst use a good bit and make sure to center punch the spot where youy start the hole.
Look into the new dist. route. You can get a reman w/ exchange for around $60 & save the hassel. Good Luck!
that was the original plan but that distributor would come close to going in after 4 hours so I returned it. I have decided to run points
I've drilled quite a few of them going from steel to bronze gears. The hole never lines up where it is supposed to be from the factory.
Just read this and then do it yourself, easy: http://www.fordracingparts.com/download/instructionsheets/FordInstShtM-12390-A.pdf
That's because it's not supposed to. You need to drill the new hole 90* from the original hole in the shaft.
