    Hi

    Thanks for this great board.

Having become frustrated with the complexity and computerization of our newer car, I am selling and seeking something from the early 70's or 60's that predates computers.

I am considering buying a 73 Comet and have posted a question about the engine in the technical section to try to learn about the engine.

From the general discussion board it looks like parts may be difficult to come by. Are they?

Welcome! Depends on the part. Mechanical stuff... Engine, accessories, transmission, braking, (most) suspension parts... No, not hard to find and not expensive at all. Original interior pieces, body panels, glass (other than the windshield) and a few random things like the V8 clutch "z-bar," stuff like that is harder to find. I drive my '71 every day and it's been very easy to maintain for the most part.

Thanks, That is reassuring. Sounds similar to some other older cars' situations.

    Welcome from Florida...

I have found everything I needed so far, sometimes I pay a premium for parts...
