someone has already has painted one and then left the center in CF. looks killer! as far as a silver CF no such think carbon is black and is only black however you can weave another type of thread within it. but it is something i won't do. ;) the request will never stop if i do just one and trust me you haven't been the only one to ask this.

Heres a question I haven't seen for the grabber hood. How hard will it be to block off the openings? Or can they be ordered closed. Im not really interested in having rain and what have you entering through the hood holes. I would rather have the hood look completely stock with the fake grilles in the holes. Im still kicking around buying the hood. I just made out pretty good on a sale on ebay for my Falcon grille so now I can apply this money to the car. Also do you take paypal? Thanks ... Bob

Maverick Man YOU have a gift. That Grabber hood looks awsome! Do your spoiler kits fit the big bumper cars?

Might have been asked before but I'll put it out there. Any thought of CF small bumpers? I know you've done the cowl hood, spoilers, and grabber hood and saw you were looking at mirrors. Just thought bumpers would be pretty cool (IMO)...

    Hey just curious Mav Man.
How much lighter would you say this hood is compared to a fiberglass hood?
And what is the reason behind the fiberglass frame? If carbon fiber is lighter shouldn't you use carbon fiber in the frame? I understand it would be more expensive to use carbon fiber in the frame so that might be an issue.
BTW, awsome job on the hoods!

Forgive me if Im wrong, but I think the hood is fiberglass overlayed with bidirectional CF(he didnt mention whether it is or not), but if thats the case then the frame just isnt CF wrapped, he could probably do it, but itll be a steeper price.

Doing some research, carbon fiber has a tensile strength of 820,000 psi, or 5650 MPa, while fiberglass has a tensile strength of around 50,000 psi. But, fiberglass is much more ductile than carbon fiber, so it will bend and is "stronger" than carbon fiber. Its not "stiffer" than carbon fiber. this is why carbon fiber will crack pretty easy, while fiberglass can take some beating before it cracks(which is probably why the frame was made from fiberglass and why most CF products are usually FG reinforced).

Very nice hood at a very reasonable price
