Which install kit did you use?

I think this is the shifter and install kit I need but I am only pretty sure not 100% sure

    Hurst 2917634
Competition Plus 4 Speed Shifter with Installation Kit
    Part #s 3913180 (Shifter) & 3737637(Install Kit)

Anyone else use this Hurst shifter for a 4 speed and use this installation kit with it?

Post a pic of the side of your trans. Need to know the location of the shifter mounting on the tail shaft.

Go to the Hurst website and pick the tranny profile that matches yours.
There are roughly 5 tailshaft profiles for a Toploader 4 speed. Hurst has a number that they assign to each profile tailshaft and mounting points... 431, 432, 433, etc... You find the number they have assigned to your tailshaft, then cross reference it with your shifter part number, and that will give you an install kit part number.

Thanks I went to hurst website and I am pretty sure I found the info I needed in their shifter catalog. Looks like by Hurst Standard I have a Ford T & C 433 4 speed toploader. and it looks like the shifter and install kit I was looking at will work.

Transmission is on the way and the shifter is on the way so I guess I will know for sure int he next few weeks to a month when I have it all put together and installed int he 73 Grabber...

Can't wait to get that old worn out O/D trans and ragged old shifter out and get the new stuff in so I can really shift some gears the way they were meant to be shifted... The fun way without having to force the shifter in gear and without havign to hold pressure on the shifter to keep it in 3rd LOL
