Hey guys, im new here, so i'm trying to figure out where to post this...so lend me a little slack, k? ha

Anyways, I was taking my alternator out of my Mav today, and after getting both bolts, and all the wires off found no hold big enough between everything in my engine cavity to actually pull it out. Am I missing something? Or do I just have to move something else? Hope someone can help. Thanks!

That's what I'm thinking...6 cyl with a/c. If I remember correctly can be a pain.

    By the way...welcome aboard!

I have the 200 I6 and A/C and while it is a BIG, PITA to get the altenator out and back in it is not impossible to do without removing anything else.

If you have most of the skin left on your knuckles and the back of your hands then you went the correct route by removign the Fan to get the alt. out.

Well since I am a Marylander, I wish you a good trip to our "wonderful" state.

    Hey I said I was a Marylander, not a proud Marylander...LOL

Seriously though if you are coming to Maryland what part are you coming to? I am down in the southern tip on the western side of the Chesapeake in the area between LaPlata and California on the map below

Well good luck to you. I hope you have fun photographing the event. Yep it is right around the corner from me. Maybe 20 minutes from my house. Glad to hear you got the altenator fixed, I take it that you are going to be driving your Maverick? If the weather holds out and I get a couple extra hours I might have to stop into MIR and see if I see any Mavericks parked anywhere.

MIR is my hometown track. I have lived right around the corner since I was a little kid.

I an hoping to have a little time to get under the dash of my 72 maverick and fix a sloppy brake light switch and my 73 Grabber has the tranny out of it right now.

It would be nice to be able to meet another member of the board and member of the Maverick Community.

Other than the Race Track there isn't alot to do in the area but if you want any recoomendations on places to eat or other stuff in the area send me a PM and I can PM you my cell # and I can give you the heads up on what's in the area.

What day are you going to actually be at the track?
