Going to give Woody a call at Fordstrokers.com and see what it will cost for a complete package with all the good stuff and AFR 185 heads. Does anybody else know of a reputable engine builder that they would recommend?

Well I delivered the car today to the new owner at a car show, he had his Mustangs entered in the show and only lived about 12 blocks away so he just had me enter the car in show. Got a second place trophy in 60s to 80s Fords, of course it was the only Maverick or Comet there.

I didnt hang around it much as it was a little painful to see it go. I am already getting some grief from fellow racers but I told them in the greater scheme of things it was the best thing to do, and I'll be back

Building them is very theraputic for the soul, but I understand how painful it is to sell one you put your blood sweat and tears into. Now go build one that will kick the new guys A$$:chirp: after all you know what he has in his :)

Wow. Hi Mike. I just joined this forum. I did a search on "72 grabber" and look what I find.

It really is a small world...

    +1... SVO ain't bad either ;)

FWIW, don't think you will have any issues getting the power you want out of it... I would recommend a Megasquirt and some larger injectors though.. you are certainly going to need them. For other reference info see Turboford.. I'm Turbo92lx over there.. you can also see my old 2.3 swapped mustang at :

If you are into Mavericks and want info this is the place to be, I have been around here for a little while and its like a big family. I should be shot for not mentioning the site when I sold you the car but I would have got around to it.

I know I didnt really convert a Mustang guy to a Maverick guy but hey it sounded good. LOL

Welcome to the forum Brian :Handshake

Hi Brian Welcome to the Forum. :Welcome:

WoW! Nice Car. I have seen it up close only a few weeks ago. Good catch for a good price. We are glad that you took the time to check us out. We are friendly. :tiphat: I say that all you need there for your new ride is a big shot of nitrous to get it into the 11's.
The guy who sold you the car is a class act!

It is all good Mike. I know it is tough. It is in good hands now though, and there is some comfort in that.
I am a mustang guy that fell in love with Comets. I have owned 2 Comets and only 1 Mustang, so the rest is history.

Mavericks are damn sexy, but I'd say a 1st gen Stang runs a close second.

Monday I took the in to get the new motor installed. I'm anxious to get it done - it took a long time to get everything. It's been a long time since I was on TF - I'm 03shkr there, too.

No need to shoot anyone - I found my way.... I like almost any old car. I just happen to have 5 Mustangs.

I agree. I'd say Mike is a real good guy. And I think I got a really nice car at a very fair price. I'm happy.

    I like my 67 and my wife's 68.

Will do. BTW, I gave your site a plug on the car's webpage.
