Tell me about, not very good ground clearance. Turning radius sucks to the left. I tried to tell him with the money he spent he couldve built a real nice 302,but he wants to be different. His car his money,as long as hes happy

the way you make it sound he spend some $$$ doing the project, why in the world did he stick with that little short stock shifter? I have a little short (crappier then that one) in my 73 grabber 4 speed and I am changing it out, very soon.

BTW Love the rest of the Idea with the clevland and the headers and all, really awesome. Probably really hauls ass

Interesting car. I would go with disc brakes up front, and a more retro wheel, but I really like the Cleveland and 5spd. BTW, he can get a Hurst 8" back-bent handle that will bolt right up to the stick on the 5spd. That's what I have in my car. He has a good car there!

Those headers are made by Tubular Automotive, up in New England. A real nightmare to assemble and my 2 cross under pipes never fit right. I believe an inner tie rod hit solid on one of the header tubes while turning in one direction but there was good clearence turning in the other direction.

I'm now changing over to Mustang II suspension so I won't be using these 8 separete tube headers anymore.

Those were actually the only wheels he had to put on the car, personally dont like big wheels myself.Liked them when I was younger but now im more into "muscle" lookin wheels.

Nice swap. He keeps it up, it'll be a really nice Mav.

On the turning and ground clearance...
The instructions with the headers tell you how to mod the steering if needed, and tell you which alternative engine mounts to use to gain steering and ground clearance.

They suggest pre-65 SBF frame stands and engine mounts will help with clearances.

I had trouble with my crossover tubes fitting, but it turned out they accidentally sent me B302 headers rather than 351c. It really screwed with my head until I figured it out. Tubular made it right though. No questions.
