Shelby Mod grease fitting idea

    I want to do the Shelby Mod on my '75 but the grease fittings interfere with the shock towers. I just bought new control arm shafts and don't want to return them.

    I had an epiphany....
    Has anyone ever thought of plugging the grease fitting hole on the endcap and drilling a new one on the front surface of the endcap? I think this would offer great access and can't think of any reason why it won't work.

    I guess it would work, as long as you kept it to the outside, away from the threads...Some Mustang suppliers sell some pretty tight 90 degree fittings, they might work.

    thats what i used. they work good.

    If you want easy run 1/8" brake line up to the fender. Then you can grease all the fittings without bending over. (I am planning on doing this on my Mustang)

    cant you just make an access hole in the tower?

    yes, with a hole saw. but you still have to bend over to get at the fittings.

    Good call! This is how most of the grease points are on our heavy equipment.

    They still hit..I had to drill a hole to use any grease fitting.

    Mine have been drilled, but would need a new hole if I drop the control arm.
