My son has a chance to buy a 302 and tranny out of a 91 crown vic. It only has 70,000 miles on it, what are your opinions on putting a fuel injected 302 in a 77 maverick? Thanks guys

It has been done before, the hardest part would be the wiring just be sure to get the whole harness. and do a search for efi 5.0 swap on this forum, also goggle classic mustang efi 5.0 swap.

The Crown Vic harness actually more easily lends itself to being adapted to the Maverick then the Mustang harness, because of the way it's laid out, and it's relatively easy to convert it to mass air should you feel the need. Put a set of E7 heads on it, H.O. upper intake and cam, and you've got an H.O. engine, except for the pistons. 71gold can hook you up with a transmission crossmember for that AOD.

I've been running my EFI conversion for over 10 years now with no problems. I did mine the hard way - no kits available back then - but well worth the effort. I say go for it.
