Im just about ready to fire up my new motor. So im under the rear of the car installing my new fuel pump and grabbed the rear tire and it turned. The car was in park and i could rotate it in either direction. So i moved it in P R D 1 2 and it did the same. It is supposed to be a new rebuild ,i no for sure the torqe convertor is i bought it from a store. So i no it does't have fluid in it. Will this cause what is going on? Thanks Mike
is your rear posi or open if it is open and both wheels are off the ground then that will happen not to worry
Not sure but i think i no what is going on. Got under the car took off the shifter linkage and pulled it back with my hand and it locked in park. Or should i say it kinda felt like it was springe. If that makes since. I tried to rotate the drive shaft and could not. This was will pulling back on the trans braket. But as soon as i took my hand off it was free again. Not sure how to fix this though. I thought it should just click into park.
Im new to this, should their be some kinda spring pulling back in the bar when its in park. Right now i just have a bar going from shifter to the trans.
iirc i had a snap ring come off the parking mechanism inside the tail end where the parking rod connects.
