    Hi there,

Is it a difficult replacement to put the 302 into the six cylinders position. We have the frame and motor mounts from a 1976 and these look like they would bolt right in.

Will the V8 and transmission fit in if we take the mounts out of the 76 and transfer them into the 74?

    Thanks,

    Danny

other things to think about is trans kick down, throttle cable, headers or manifolds, belt routing and brackets for the 302. you may need a better radiator, if your old one has crud in it, it may cool the six fine but may not cool the v8.

The bellhousing will need to be one from a V8 or 250ci car.

The 302 you are using, is it complete? What car is it out of?

    Hi there,

All of the parts are already in our 76 Maverick. I am not certain if Ford made any changes between the 74 to 76 model, thus the question.

My son is hot on doing this conversion since that's what we did with the 76 several years ago.

You can swap the engine and transmission with no worries as long as you use the V8 frame mounts and cross-member. No dramatic changes that will affect the swap.

Thanks, that's kind of what I thought since all the things we need are in the other car.
