Took the Mav to work on Fri. Got the new outer tie rods on. The ones on it were non-grease-able and the rubber was cracked. Got rid of that aftermarket 3 spoke wheel and installed the factory wheel I bought off Ebay. Huge improvement in looks and turns a bit easier at slow speed. Plan was to get it aligned but the stripe guy showed up to do some new cars and hunted me down. He saw my car out back and though it needs a stripe to break up the Blue. Always planned on a stripe just hadnt got around to calling him. I wasnt busy so we put it on the hoist and away he went. He did a great job. Very fussy. One thin stripe had a tiny mark from cutting so he ripped it off and started over. Didnt get the stripe done till 4:30 so we quickly set the toe for now. Do the full align. Wed. evening. Just as the stripe guy took some pics for his portfolio and website the skies opened. HAd to wait out a storm but then caught up to it half way home. Cleaned the car up tonight and took a few pics. Sorry about the pics but it was almost dark out. Couldnt figure out how to shut the flash off on my wifes SLR. Its a 2 inch center and a 1/4" stripe top and bottom. Simple and clean. Exactly what I wanted. Almost forgot I also changed all the cluster bulbs since half were burnt out and installed my NOS heater control panel. Thanx Acornridgeman it looks perfect.
That is one clean Mav. Can I hit you up for the paint code? That is one of the colors I am look ing at. ( I am way to far away for it to be mistaken as yours) The sripe looks great and brings out the body lines. Good choice!!!
Its Grabber Blue. The camera flash flips the paint. Grabber Blue surprises some people with how much it flips shade for a solid color. Our painter was shocked at how much it flips color.
Can't wait to see the Maverick and meet you guys on Wednesday. Oh by the way can i park my old rusty Comet between you and Larry's at Hooters there is something about parking between to bright blue Mavericks that just makes me smile.
