    Welcome to the forum. :tiphat:

Engine swaps are popular, usually involving going from the inline 6 to a small V8, like a 302 based small block. These cars came with 302's, so that family is a nice conversion. Just a matter of getting the hardware needed and a trans to match. Carb'ed is pretty straight forward and EFI conversions are very neat too.

Some are even moving up to the 351W and 351C engines. Things start to get tight in the engine compartment at that level, sometimes involving modifying shock towers, sheet metal fab, etc.

And the handful that move past 400 cubes are just crazy... :yikes:

you can´t install 385 family series engines (370,429, 460) , neither Fe´s engines family(352,390,410,427,428), theres just no space to make them fit without extensive and expensive modifications. you better install a 408w stroker i guess. but you need to make some mods to the shocktowers. or build a nice 302. that depends what you want. i will install a 408w in my maverick later.

Welcome from Florida........... 302's are your best bet,, and if you want more take your 302 to the next level a 347 stroker..........
