    Question:

Is there any special value to a 70 Maverick vice a 71 or 72? I have the opportunity to buy a 70, with locking column (VIN 0K91Lxxxxxx) that was used as a drag car. No cage, no motor, trans or rear. Does have Grabber hood and spoilers. No front seat. Problem car was/is nearly torn in half just in front of passenger side front leaf spring mount. Good doors (minor rust) , hood has been worked and does have some fixable rust through on the inner lip, spoilers are good as are front fenders and roof. Black interior with good back seat panels. Has belly bar but no other V8 parts, good front and rear valances plus extra rear valance. Also no title. No pics either, forgot to take camera with me.

sounds like a good parts car. other than that, the only thing that is special that i have seen people look for in a '70 is the key in the dash :)

I also forgot that the 70 did not have the door beams so the doors are lighter as is the roof for the same reason. Any market for the lighter 70 doors, as in drag racing, etc?

Up to '72 didn't have the beams in the doors.

Really??? I thought that was a mandate from the HTSB (Highway Transportation Safety) that ALL 71 models and newer were required to have them and in the roof.
