A friend of ours just got back from the Spring Carlisle swap meet. He came across a vendor there who had a pair of NOS Maverick quarter panels. Being the good friend that he is, he is always on the lookout for Maverick parts for us, even though he himself does not own one. When he asked the vendor how much for the quarter panels, our friend nearly went into shock. The vendor wanted $900 for both of them, and he did not want to seperate them. Our buddy persisted and the vendor decided that he would sell them seperate: for $500 a piece. Our friend said " no way" and walked away. The vendor also had a set of NOS fenders, but our friend didn't ask the price on those. When our friend was leaving he was pretty sure he saw the vendor packing up the parts to take back home with him. So I ask you, just how much do you all think NOS quarters should cost and how much would you be willing to pay for them?

jean, as you know it depends on the need. to me if i had a crushed quarter on a rust free car, it would be worth more to me than one on a beater car.
you tell us. ?#1what would it cost to repair a wheel lip and bottom quarter on a car. cut out and new metal replacement?
?#2what would it cost to replace quarter panel?
you are in the "know zone".
thanks for any of this info you can share with us...frank...:bananaman :bananaman

The last quarter panel I bought from Ford was on 10/15/86. I paid $311.13 and that was body shop price. So in my opinion, the pair are worth every bit of the $900 asking price. There is nothing like NOS metal. If I was restoring another car for myself that needed them, I'd buy them.

    Was it Ed Bennett?

I would have also paid the price to fix a rust free car ... matter of fact ... If I had the spare money I would have bought them anyway and stuck them in my attic ... There are a lot of idiot drivers out there ... NOS Maverick quarters are probably a once in a life-time purchase .. especially a set ... :D

The repops are really only skins ... an OEM Quarter includes the rear of the flipper window and part of the roof .... Correct fit and no butt welds required.

I paid $300 apiece for NOS rear quarters in 1995.

So the repops aren't really that great of a deal then :(
Where are you all finding NOS replacements? I've got a quarter that's going to need replacement before new paint, i was hoping the repops would be good enough.

I ran a Lincoln Mercury body shop for the last 16 years before going into the auto appraisal business and compared to the price of quarter panels on late model cars they are worth every penny of it. I too would pay the price if I needed full quarters.

I would say the repop quarters are "good enough" as plenty on this board have used them.

I do have one NOS rear quarter I will sell. I will not ship, must be picked up...or I can bring it to Carlisle/Round-Up.
