Hi, Sam, Sorry for the late reply. Thanks for the offer. I can't seem to find the time to get the car back together. I was planning on working on it this weekend but my son's health issues popped up again and we had to put him back in the hospital for what seems like the 100th time. So my weekend was taken up dealing with my son. Its not like I have to get er done right away but Im ant'sy to get it back to looking like a car again. Im hoping he will be sent back home again in the next day or two which means I'll be able to get started on it again next weekend. I also have a 5 day weekend off starting Saturday so I can get a good jump on getting the front back on. Sam you are welcome to stop out any time to check out the car if you want to. Just call first to be sure Im home and not at the hospital. My number is listed so you can just call information, leave a message if I don't answer. hopefully you drive your Mav. out HINT HINT (LOL). later ... Bob

Darren, Its silver. I got a sample of the silver tape stripes from Graphic Express and gave it to the body shop. I ask them to match the paint as close as possible to the tape color. I was planning on stripping out the sides next year with the 70 grabber stripes (no grabber name cutout) in silver.

the paint pattern looks very similar to my 4 door. the big difference is my stripes were seafaom green. i think it will look great when you get it completed.

Its a vinyl top. I kinda like it and its in excellent shape. I do believe however that it is not a factory top. I came to this conclusion after looking at the trim mouldings in the back and comparing things to other cars. The finish trim in the back was a brushed alluminum with crushed ends instead of the cast chromed pieces. The vinyl glued to the front pillars did not have the metal finish pieces that are pop riveted on. I managed to find both rear chrome trim pieces NOS and also got the pillar finish pieces. I will be installing all of that last though. Ive always liked vinyl tops even though everyone on this web site seems to make fun of them. :rofl2:
I vote vinyl on your car if you can get the trim pieces in the back ....

Mine has a vinyl top too, Bob, and so does Dan Starnes' Stallion, the best looking Maverick in the world, so those vinyl top haters can make fun of all of us lol.

My 5-month-old is keeping me plenty busy these days but I'll see if I can get a few minutes to stop by this coming weekend. It'd be good to meet you and talk cars for a while. I hope all works out with your son.

Sam , wait until he gets bigger their much more of a handful but alot more fun. Do you have any other kids? I just have the one, he's 27 and a Marine. Two tours in Irag, came back, finished up his active time and then all hell broke out medically. Its just not fare for a 27 year old to go through this much **** this early in his life.
    Thanks ... Bob

Bob, I hear you. My little brother has been to Iraq 3 times with the 101st. Survived 15 IED attacks and last one gave him a tramatic brain injury. Toasted his short term memory, not to mention his respritory problems. We'll keep him in our thoughts and prayers. - Matt

WOW Matt, We have more in common than just sharing a state. Sorry to here about your brother like that. How old is he? The VA hospital has been great with our son. He is like a celebrity there. He is the youngest one that they have had continuiously on and off for the last two years. He just got through having two heart valves replaced and then had to have a pacemaker put in. Severe arthritis with lose of use on his right hand (he's right handed), stomach problems plus an assortment of other weird unexplainable issues. Just this week they finally confirmed that his heart problems were more than likely caused from being over seas (rheumatic fever). They have already denied him any disability three times. Now with the new hospital report maybe the next appeal will go through. Hes has been unable to work for almost three years. I just glad for the most part hes taking on his problems with a good attitude towards life.
    later ... Bob

Awesome car. Love the paint combo. If I may, what silver was used on the tail light panel?
