Hello all..Was wondering which parts for the maverick are most in demand or hard to find, A complete 74 grabber came into pick and pull with all the goodies, I pulled things like the sport mirrors off but was wondering what else to pull, I dont really need any parts myself but extra is always nice, was thinking about the glass also...any thoughts..

spoilers, quarter extensions, bucket seats/tracks, floor shift parts? (if it is a floor shift) grabber hood, is it a v-8, if so motor mounts and frame stands, and i believe 74 had front disks? if so those are often wanted for earlier drum brake cars, if it has original styled wheels, (not sure if grabber door panels are special? either way if its nice interior, door panels, dash pad, etc...) grille, sport lamps,(were those on the 74s?) ... is that it guys???

74 Grabber didn't have a grabber hood unless someone put it on there.

Yes it did have a Grabber hood! It just doesn't have the scoops on it like the other ones that people commonly refer to as the Grabber hood:rolleyes:

    Hello:
Regarding the salvage of parts. By all means ..Don't overlook the GLASS . Side windows both front and rear are not available here in Florida , neither is the rear windshield.
We can still find a "front" windshield.. but the others are not to be found.
I would recommend you mark the windows somewhere with the year and type of car it was removed from for future reference.

The parts I have found hard to find are bucket seat tracks, boomerangs, good rear window chrome trim, trunk chrome trim, shifter extension hump.

I think windows are common, I just bought a new windshield from Brandon Floirda, 200$ delivered

I have 5 sets of all the side, quarter and rear windows

Question? what are the seat tracks used for? do you need them for converting to new buckets?

The only Grabber Hood IS the '71-'72 with the scoops in it. A '74 Grabber has a standard flat hood with a decal slapped on it. The hood itself is no different then any other standard Maverick hood.

As for the original question, get anything that's in good shape that you realistically can. Easy for people to sit at the computer and say you should strip it clean, but come on. Like you are going to spend a couple of days and hundreds of dollars at the junkyard removing parts you don't even need. If it's got some nice, easy to remove type stuff, get it if you can and want to. Grille, bezels, V8 parts, floor shift parts, disc brakes, misc interior parts, stuff like that.
