That specific Camaro does, in fact have a small block ford in it.

I think a lot of the "nothing other than a Ford in a Ford" argument comes from all the cheap 350's that have been put into all of the nice Ford Show cars over the years. I know it is with me.
Go to a show, see a real sweet 40 Ford couple, walk up to it and see a silly Chevy 350 sitting in the engine bay. I got to where I quit going to show because of all of the chevy powered hot rods. No imagination.
I friend of mine has an uncle with I THINK a 32 Ford pick up truck. Real nice. It has a Nissan straight 6 with a turbo. Sounds real nice. I have never ridden in it but I bet it is fast as hell. I like it. If it had a chevy 350 in it I wouldn't look at it twice.

I hear that! i hate seeing any of the older roundy ford pickups w a 350 in them.. they always give some crud about not being easy enough to put a decent ford 8 to me which makes me laugh because my uncle squeezed the 351clevland (much wider than its FE) into a 54 back in 1980 with the 3 on the tree trans from the FE block. that was some serious work since he kept the engine compt mostly stock and suspension....

I don't like the wheels on the maverick. Camaro's wheels are cool

Thanks for the comps Nick, it was not an easy build, as this next quote suggests. It was alot more involved than just throwing it in there, had to custom build an oil pan, etc........ wiring the car alone was a major project.
Actually we didn't expect everyone to love it, however while we were on the Power Tour, the car had ALOT more positive responses than negative. Regardless if people like it or not, the car seriously kicks ass, everyone has their own likes and dislikes.
One of the biggest reason's for building the car is that everyone puts a SBF in their Maverick, on the Power Tour this car always had a crowd around it. Most of the old domestic guys didn't have a clue what was in it, all of the young crowd knew it was a 2JZ, they thought it was very cool.
Yes it's a '71 Z28, it's a badass car, I did get to drive it on the Power Tour. Here's a link to the Power Tour pictures of the Spectre group.

That blue Mustang is an original Mach 1, it has a fuel injected 351 in it. As far as cutting up the Maverick, let's face it, it's an original 6 cylinder Maverick, pretty much at the bottom of the food chain when it comes to classic Fords.

Only thing I don't like is the goofy spoilers, they look like a stuck on after thought IMO. Those cars would look clean without the spoilers stuck all over them.

Rajunz, thanks for posting about this car on the board. its not my personal cup of tea but i can apriceat the work and time that went into it. i wish some other custom car builders that are doing mavericks would give up dates like you did (v10 viper mav). thanks again, and keep us updated on that mavs performance.

If I have my facts straight (which I probably do not) a 2jzgte swap would add weight. 250 inline 6 weighs 385lbs (not 100% sure of this)

    302 V8 weighs 460lbs (not 100% sure of this)

2JZGTE (without tranny) weighs 594lbs (I am 100% sure of this. Not that it matters but I had one fall on my hand)

I'm thinking he may have added overall weight, the 2J is an iron block. I see it as an improvement, but then again I would put a 2jz in anything/everything if I could.
