hello everyone, my awesome wife went and bought an almost rust free 1975 250 maverick in Alberta Canada. (her 30ith birthday gift to herself)(yea she rocks) i stuck it on a trailer and dragged it back to Manitoba where we began the build process. it has a 350 horse small block being built, has ion 17s on the rear as well as 15s on the front! (wheels but no tires yet) i am looking for some information on the gauges. on ebay i can get some white face gauge kits but they are for years 1971 - 1973 i am wondering what the change was in the 1974 year. i would like to get the white face kit so i am wanting to make an informed decition. thanks for letting an old mustang guy play with the maverick kids!
p.s. i had a comet once but it was a 67 caliente, so i guess the mav is the first.

    :Welcome:
As far as the FACE of the cluster is concerned. The '70 is unique (aka the red stripe speedometer) and is 120 MPH. '71 - '75 are 120 MPH speedometers. '76 is a 100 MPH speedometer. '77 is an 80 MPH speedometer. There are other differences, but don't affect the face.
This information is "from what I know", someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

Is it 75-76 that is 100MPH? Was it a mid-year change?
I've never had a '75 until recently. I need to check what it has, I don't remember.

The mav is gone but i'm still here!
All 75s were 100, i swapped in a 71 120mph unit no problem... looks way better with the silver in the middle! Its a must to swap!...... unless you have one of those six cylinders they only need the 100mph one :D haha joking!

    Ok
    So this would correct...

    '70 - 120 MPH red stripe
    '71 - '74 - 120 MPH
    '75 - '76 - 100 MPH
    '77 - 80 MPH

I am always "lurking" around here somewhere. :D

I have only had one 1975...so I can't say for sure, but this looks correct.

Well then I am going to need a red stripe 120 speedo for the '69 when the resto on that starts. I figured that it had been changed.
