Does anyone know if a starter for a 289-302-351W is the same as a 351C with a 4 speed? I got a good price on a high torque mini starter from Eastwood and their tech guy says it will work so I figured I would check with my tech guys first.

I know that the bell housings are the same and I'm using a 164 tooth flywheel.

    Thanks :Handshake

I am pretty sure they are. I have only messed with a couple of C's. I do know that the automatic and manual starters are slightly different. Mainly the length of the snout.

They all use the same stuff.
The difference is between C4/157t manual and 164t manual.
If you have the right one for the bellhousing, it doesn't matter which engine.
