......................................... ................................................ Here are some pictures from the 4th Annual NMCC mini meet in conjunction with Summit Ford. This was their fifteenth annual car show. They went above the call of duty and put on a great show. Summit Ford handed out a ton of prizes and a stack of awards and trophies. I myself won a Performance World tee-shirt, C.D. holder and a coffee mug (Ford of course). Each category had a class champ and a runner up. Even though our mini meet was very small compared to other years as some of the other Maverick and Comet guys just could not make it due to anniversary's and other commentments. The show had a great turn out with a nice varity of Fords. We were in class F which is '72 and up Torino, Maverick,Montego, Comet, Pinto and Bobcat. In the end i ended up getting class champion and Earl ( the Maverick with the '73 Mustang taillights) got runner up. This is a picture of Earl getting his plaque. He was kinda surprised by the fact that he won but then hell so was i surprised that i won a plaque also. It is nice though too bring home something ever so often being that my Comet is far from perfect. Here's some pictures of our cars with the plaques. All in all the Summit Ford show was great, what i really love about this show is that you are in a category ,for us it was F category and the guys who bring their cars to the show are the ones who vote. This i think is truly great as it gives us guys with cars that are not flawless a chance to win a plaque. One thing that did kill me was in their bin in front of the dealership. They are doing the ''retire your clunker'' promotion and there were two cars - 1) a Lincoln and 2)a Honda. Now i could care less about the Honda but the Lincoln was a '70's in pretty good condition and it was just tossed in the bin, very sad. I know at least 4 guys that would love to have that car, oh well i guess that is the way it goes. The 4th annual NMCC mini meet was TRULY a mini meet indeed, but really good and really fun. It was nice that Earl showed up with his '72 Maverick. It's always nice to see a new member and his car.I'm looking forward to next years 5th annual NMCC mini meet at Summit Ford. ............................................. ....................................... Here are a few more pictures from the car show- enjoy.
Lets see the Performance World T-Shirt!! We used to have one of those here in Indiana....closed many years ago. I wonder if it is the same?
Wish I could have made it. Looks like a great show. Whos the guy that parked that clunky old Thunderbolt(I think it is?) beside those lovely cars.
Hee, hee. hee that's funny, yeah what a junker. That old thing can't be worth more than $500 / $600 bucks eh?
Sorry Craig but it is not a performance car part store, it's a car show that we have every March up here in Mississauga. Look..... This picture is from the 2009 edition of the Performance World Custom Car Show.
Anyone have a picture of the store logo from Performance World since i'm told it was a store and not a car show. Would like to see it.
Back in "the day"......one wouldn't think of having a cool car without having a set of performance world stickers on the rear side windows. Standard equipment around these parts....."back in the day".
For us up here in Southern Ontario the sticker that you put on your classic car is of all things a Harvey's sticker. This restaurant was the place to hang out with your classic car in the '60s and '70s. The place is now a jerk chicken place and all the hotrods have gone away. The original car on the sticker was a 1965 Galaxie 500 but as i love to mess things up i changed it to the Maverick drawing that we all know of. All the classic cars that hang out at the local cruises have this Harvey's sticker in their window to this day, of course i have a Harvey's sticker on my Comet too but it is the Maverick version.
