Don't know about power brakes on the 'new cars' like Mavericks. I didn't matter on old cars like Falcons. This master is on my friend's 65 Falcon. It doesn't angle up. I have an '89 Mustang master on my Falcon. It has (metric) ports on the engine side. The Ranger ports are on the fender side and are SAE.

Rebuilt one leaked on my F100. I took a machinist square to the top and saw it was nowhere near flat across the top. If it had not already been installed I would have put it on my belt sander and flattened it. I cut out a piece of soft rubber gasket material and put it in between the gasket and lid, made sure the hold down was tight and it has been leak free every since

Well I bent the spring and it's pretty tight now. Will see what happens. Thanks for all the advice.

Even if it's fixed though, and even though my brakes are excellent, I may still plunder the junkyard and try out a couple of other master cylinders just because I'm insane.
