Well, I just moved my Roller motor from it's banishment in the garage for the last 2 yrs. Once it was installed and running , it has a BAD vibration at about 1500 rpm. Now after that (1500rpm) it subsides. This is worse if the car is in gear (automatic) It is a 5.0 with the 50 oz flywheel and harmonic balancer, when banished to the garage, the motor and Tranny were never broke apart.it has a torqmaster 3000 stall, E-303 cam and ported heads, Torker 289 intake, duraspark dist., and 8.8mm plug wires.
The whole thing was running 13.50 in the 1/4 with 100 shoot of Nos, in a 73 Ranchero. I have changed the balancer, That ain't it. If the car is in park or drive, it makes with the shake. So engine or Tranny are the places to look....

Please help me befor I go postal on my poor scared Mav...

What kind of fan are you running.
The 5.0 was not originally serpentine belt driven with a reverse rotation water pump?
If you are running a belt driven fan there could be a balance issue with the fan or spacer or a bad blade??

If this engine was running good before it was pulled out of the Ranchero and nothing else was touched on it, there "should" be nothing wrong with it. Did you use a different pulley set-up from that in the Ranchero? Also if this engine has been sitting for two years, check the carb and make sure it's not gummed up, dist cap terminals for corrosion, vacuum advance for smooth operation and I'm sure I'm missing a few others.
