removing window unit and glass?

    1971 Ford Maverick 2-door
    I was looking inside the doors of my maverick as I took it apart today, I'm convinced I need to rebuild the window mechanisms, but it appears the glass is held in with plastic rivets? I need help on the best way to remove these pieces.

    In the center if the "plastic rivit" is a pin. Take a small punch or phillips screwdriver and drive the pin out. Then you can reach around the back side of the rivit and squeeze the fingers in so it will pop right out.

    I did this once, too....

    .... years ago. I didn't have replacements for the damaged plastic thingies, so I used a nut and a bolt and a couple of plastic washers. It worked great. It's still in there and still fixed. :)

    Will be posting pics of my old mav within the week.:cool:
