under dash

    1974 comet gt
    i have the dash out of my 1974 comet and there is a black and white box under the dash. it has a part number of D4AB-14A554-A2D i took it to the local ford dealer here in town and they looked at me like i was retarded and they couldn't tell me what it was either. does anyone have any idea what it is.....

    Three 71 Maverick Grabbers, a 72 302 Sprint, a 73 LDO 2door parts car, a 76 silver v8 Stallion.
    It's a part of your seatbelt interlock system. I believe it has a buzzer built in it too which often gets unplugged to get it to shut the heck up. :)

    Yeah, I was all super careful with my box before I knew what it was. When I found out it was source of the seatbelt siren, its lifespan deteriorated rapidly.
