    Interesting you should mention the points. I burned out two sets of them before I switched over to the Pertronix point-free system. Could be related?

    i would defiantely check for a vacuum leak. if you can get it to run take a can of ether(starting fluid) and spray around the carb and the heads and intake. youll notice it die down if there is a leak

    I think you have that backwards....if you spray starting fluid on a vacuum leak, the engine will race up, not die down.....

    Use water...Not starting fluid...If you have a leaky plug wire,it could be maverick flambay...Or a loss of facial hair when it lights off...:yup:
