x2 many people have lost body parts and killed.at very least it could take out every thing around it underhood if it did come apart just something to think about.

I had 3 different mechanics in a month tell me they lost buddies to blade fans coming apart, so i swapped to an electric fan. (may have been the same buddy, for all I know, it is a small town.)

I cannot get the video to work, AND that myspace site is locking up my firefox. Gonna try IE7.

EDIT--worked on IE. That fan is SCARY!!!

Go electric with a shroud, and it will keep that thing running at 180.

I agree somethings not right. It doesnt sound anywhere near 6500rpm. I'd guess around 5000. I dont mean to insult anyone or start an argument but I think you need to double check your RPM. I'm also guessing the tach is set at 6 cylinder. The idle shows a thousand because it is out by a percentage throughout the RPM scale.
Takes one hell of an expensive well built 302 to hit 8000 never mind stay together. Please dont take offence it just didnt sound like 6500 to me and 8000 wow.

its definately right. and i have alot of money in this motor. my cam has almost 300 degrees of duration and 540 lift. arp rod bolts keep the bottom together. i hve the car set on a fast idle. it runs amazing that way with the 3500 stall. why would i set my tach as a 6 cylinder? sorry to disappoint but i know what im doing. the car also isnt horribly loud. it has 40 series mufflers under it.

So, what kind of times are you getting at the track? I'd have to guess it's at least a 10 second car if your tach info is correct. Shifting at 8000 is wicked! :chirp:

im only running 380 gears. ni wanted to keep it streetable. its turning about 3000 in 3rd at 60. i run 7's in a 1/8th. and a low 12 in the 1/4. if id change the gears for racing i could turn a low 11

Cool, I'm running 3.89 gears behind a toploader. I'm running a 347 and I'm shifting at 6500...couldn't imagine going to 8000. I've ran a 7.03 with the 3.89 gears and a 6.97 when I changed out to my 4.30 gears. Not enough difference to keep the 4.30's in and it's much more streetable with the 3.89's.

If it is turning 3000 at 60, then that tach is right.

I have 3.80s and that is right where mine drives.
