Hello all, I have just purchased a 1976 Comet. No engine but the body is fairly staight and just a few small spots of rust around the crome on the back fenders. I will try and post some pics tomorrow. I was given a 351m but it would be to much work to get it in there. Also the person I bought it from robbed the front disk brakes from it and it curently has 1968 mustang 4 lug drum brakes on it. Can I only get the steering knuckle and spindles from a junkyard? Tie rods and control arms are still there. Any help or ideas would be greatly appericated. Im working on getting a 302 for it. Do i need to change the motor mounts on the frame? Sorry so many questions. Chris Miller
Welcome from Florida....... My son is at Andrews afb.. If the comet was a factory v8 and frame stands are still there then no.. If they are missing you will need frame stands, motor mounts, and a belly bar... as for disc brakes you can use Granada front disc set up.. I got the whole set for $100 bucks....
I just left Andrews AFB, MD. I work SAMPAX where I coordinated flights for the President, V. President, Cabinet members, Foreign Heads of State, and many other top officials. Where does your son work? I worked in the passenger terminal. Chris
I don't know where on base he works, but he flies with the silver bullet all over the world...He's a crew chief....Nick Roden is his name... he is my step son....
